Soccer has a reputation for attracting the occasional critter to join in on the fun, and Inter Miami were the latest team to host some local fauna on the field in the first half of their game against the New York Red Bulls.
This time around, an owl joined the proceedings, bringing along what looked to be a bit of dinner. It stood around to observe the proceedings for a bit before presumably taking back off into the Florida night:
The first-half owl sighting certainly looks to have been an ill omen for Miami, who ended up dropping a 4-1 decision to the Red Bulls by the time the 90 minutes were up.
The owl's appearance also mark a third straight year of animal sightings at MLS stadiums. Last year, a cat famously executed a darting run behind RSL's backline in a Leagues Cup game:
And Rio Tinto Stadium also played host to a duck that briefly delayed play between RSL and the LA Galaxy in September 2018.
