Five years and one day to the signing, Bradley Wright-Phillips hit for an MLS century, scoring his 100th goal in league play, all for the New York Red Bulls.
He accomplished the feat in 159 appearances, the quickest run in the league's 23 seasons; Taylor Twellman (scoring 100 in his 174th appearance) previously held the record. Entering the match, BWP had averaged 0.71 goals per 90 minutes for his career.
With one additional goal, Wright-Phillips will set another MLS mark, as it will unlock a fifth consecutive season with at least 15 goals. LA Galaxy legend Robbie Keane is the only other player to reach four.
