Homegrown New England Revolution midfielder Scott Caldwell looks set to stay with his club for a long time.

The club announced on Tuesday they signed Caldwell to a new contract. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

Caldwell, 24, is about to embark on his fourth season with the team. The team's second-ever Homegrown player, he has featured in 89 regular season appearances and seven MLS Cup playoff appearances with New England to date. Playing in all 34 regular season games last year, Caldwell won both fans' and players' Player of the Year awards for the Revolution.

“Scott has been an important part of this club, both on and off the field, and he’s an example of the type of player we look for here in New England,” Revolution general manager Michael Burns said in a team statement. “We have had the opportunity to watch Scott grow from being a Homegrown player to being named MVP of the club by both his teammates and fans. We are excited Scott will be with the club in the years ahead.”

New England open their 2016 season on Sunday on the road against the Houston Dynamo (3 pm ET, MLS Live).
