New Bayern Munich winger Alphonso Davies settling in at midseason camp

Alphonso Davies is now officially a Bayern Munich player, and the former Vancouver Whitecaps FC phenom looks to be settling in nicely with his new team.

The Canadian international, who made the move to Bayern in a transfer deal that could be worth up to $22 million, was featured in a video produced by the Bundesliga giants as he trains with the squad in their midseason training camp in Doha, Qatar.

Amid footage of the 18-year-old cross-training and doing drills with his teammates, Bayern players and World Cup winners Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer speak of how "Phonzie" is integrating with the group.

Davies himself speaks of the acclimation process, and Bayern manager Niko Kovac said of the winger: "We need quality, that's why he is here and the sooner the better."

Bayern have won the last six Bundesliga titles, but they have a real challenge on their hands this season, as they currently sit in second place in the table, six points behind Borussia Dortmund. The second half of their season kicks off on Jan. 18 at Hoffenheim, and we'll see when Davies gets on the field for the first time for his new club.
