By now, Chris Wondolowski should be used to collecting silverware.
For the fourth time this season, Wondolowski was named the MLS Player of the Week, a just reward for a hat trick against Colorado – his 23rd, 24th and 25th goals of the season – that put the San Jose forward within striking distance of Roy Lassiter’s single-season goal record of 27.
After Marvin Chávez opened the scoring for the Supporters’ Shield favorites, MLS’ leading MVP candidate did what he does best, banging in three goals defined by superb positioning, anticipation and tidy finishes. Wondolowski also broke San Jose' all-time scoring record in the process, passing Ronald Cerritos by scoring his 62nd goal as a Quake.

He'll have to score three goals in San Jose's final two matches – vs. LA and at Portland – to break Lassiter's record.
He captured 16 of 20 first-place votes to leave no doubt as to who would take home the honor in Week 31. Vancouver's Camilo, Chicago's Sherjill MacDonald and Real Salt Lake's Fabián Espíndola also received first-place votes.
Wondolowski has won the award four times in 2012 (Weeks 9, 19, 29 and 31), and was also named the MLS Player of the Month for September, as well as April and June, after scoring four goals and dishing out two assists.
