TRANSFER TRACKER STATUSES:Waived
Two MLS teams announced roster departures on Thursday.
The Montreal Impact announced defenders Deian Boldor and Wandrille Lefevre have been waived. Boldor, 22, joined the Impact in July 2017 on loan from Italian side Bologna, making five appearances, all starts, in central defense in his short stint with the team.
Lefevre (pictured above), 28, was one of the longest-tenured Impact players, joining the team in 2013, making 48 MLS regular season appearances and one MLS Cup Playoffs appearance, primarily from a center back position. The France native also became a Canadian citizen and has earned three caps for the Canadian national team.
"The club wants to thank Wandrille for his seven years with the Impact and Deian for his contribution last year, wishing them all the best in their future endeavors," the Impact wrote in a team release.
Lefevre posted a heartfelt goodbye to Impact fans on his social media with the title, 'I will always be one of yours':
Meanwhile, the Chicago Fire announced on Thursday that they have ended goalkeeper Jorge Bava's contract, by mutual agreement.
Bava, 36, was signed ahead of the 2017 season and began the campaign as the No. 1 for the Fire. But injuries limited him to just eight appearances in MLS regular season play, and he was supplanted by Matt Lampson and Richard Sanchez as the season progressed.
“Jorge expressed a desire to return to Uruguay,” said Fire general manager Nelson Rodriguez in a statement. “We’d like to thank Jorge for his time in Chicago and wish him and his family all the best.”
