The Montreal Impact are looking for back-to-back home wins over Cascadia foes when they host the Portland Timbers Wednesday night at Stade Saputo.
The Impact (8-7-3) return from the Gold Cup break after defeating the Seattle Sounders, 2-1, at home on June 5. After falling behind on a Victor Rodriguez penalty kick in the 64th minute, Saphir Taider leveled from the penalty spot 10 minutes later and then struck for the winner in the 78th minute.
The Timbers (5-7-2) are coming off a 4-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo Saturday at Providence Park. On his MLS debut, Marvin Loria scored his first goal in the 39th minute. Diego Valeri doubled Portland's lead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute and then set up Brian Fernandez two minutes later. Jeremy Ebobisse capped the scoring in the 75th minute on Valeri's third assist of the game.
