Three Things

  • THE BIG PICTURE: The Impact desperately needed a victory after giving up 16 goals in their four-match losing run. Their second-half defensive form remains troubling, though. For the Revs, the result may be secondary to the health of Agudelo, who departed in the 34th-minute after what looked to be a non-contact injury.
  • MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Of Montreal's four goals, the prettiest was probably their third, when Piatti found Edwards on a perfectly timed run and perfectly weighted throughball. Edwards owed his side a crisp finish after wasting a glorious first-half chance.
  • MAN OF THE MATCH: Goalkeeper Evan Bush. Just kidding. It couldn't be anyone other than Piatti, who with five goals and six assists over eight matches is playing himself into early 2018 MLS MVP conversations. Just how good has he been? It's his second MOTM showing in three weeks, and the first of those came in a loss.
