The Seattle Sounders seem to like the spotlight. With forward Obafemi Martins leading the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week race for the second consecutive time after lighting up New York City on national TV, Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei is trying to get in on the act as well, leading the MLS Save of the Week field as of Thursday morning for a crucial stop in the same Sunday game.
There's still time to influence the result by voting in the poll at right, but Frei - with more than 40 percent - is in the lead. Sporting Kansas City netminder Tim Melia, making his first appearance of the season, is the closest to Frei with more than 20 percent of the vote.
The remainder of the vote is split between Columbus Crew SC's Steve Clark (15.62%), the New York Red Bulls' Luis Robles (12.08%) and New York City FC's Josh Saunders (11.28%).
There's still time to make your opinion heard. Who will you choose? Vote now, and the winner will be announced on Friday based off your online votes.
Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursday. For complete coverage of the MLS Save of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
