We already know about Major League Soccer players’ talents on the field, whether it’s a diving save by Bill Hamid, a pinpoint accurate pass by Kaku, Ilsinho’s magic on the ball or a long-distance curling effort by Carlos Vela.
But what about off the field?
MLS players now have the chance to showcase their non-soccer skills in the new MLSsoccer.com weekly show “MLS Idle: Soccer’s Hidden Talents”.
Susannah Collins, Charlie Davies and a special weekly guest will reveal and judge the hidden talents of MLS players and fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite performances and select each episode’s winner.
The show premiered Thursday night at 7:30 pm ET on Major League Soccer’s Twitter and Facebook.
In the inaugural episode, Rolf Feltscher of the LA Galaxy, NYCFC’sRonald Matarrita, Inter Miami CF’sLee Nguyen and Keegan Rosenberry of the Colorado Rapids competed against each other with Rob Stone of FOX Sports joining as the special guest.
Fans vote by posting #MLS Idle and their favorite performer’s last name on Twitter or Facebook during the show and up to Sunday at 11:59 pm ET. So watch the show above and get voting.
As a part of “MLS Idle: Soccer’s Hidden Talents,” MLS WORKS will make a $1,000 donation in honor of each weekly winner to a local charity designated by his club once the bracketed competition begins in Week 3.
There will be 13 episodes, which will run through mid-July, and a 32-player bracket consisting of 26 club-nominated seeds and six wild cards selected from the first two episodes.
