The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Montreal Impact midfielder Ignacio Piatti one match for an action taken during Week 19 of the MLS season.
Piatti foul on Powell
The Committee has unanimously decided to suspended Piatti for one game for his foul on Alvas Powell in the 18th minute of Montreal’s game against the Portland Timbers on July 13, which was deemed to be serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent. Piatti originally received a yellow card for the play and will now serve his suspension during Montreal’s next match against New York City FC on Sunday, July 17 (5 pm ET; ESPN in the US, TSN2, RDS in Canada).
