The MLS Disciplinary Committee has announced two suspensions following Week 24 of the 2018 MLS regular season.
Altidore violent conduct
The Disciplinary Committee has suspended Toronto FC forward Jozy Altidore an additional game (two games total) and fined him an additional undisclosed amount for violent conduct during the ninth minute of Toronto's match against New York City FC on Aug. 12. Altidore, who originally received a red card for the play, served his red-card suspension on August 18 during TFC’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes. The forward will serve his additional one-game suspension on August 25 during Toronto’s match against the Montreal Impact.
Salinas violent conduct, failure to leave the field
The Disciplinary Committee has suspended San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Shea Salinas an additional game (two games total) and fined him an undisclosed amount for violent conduct in the 87th minute of San Jose's match against the Colorado Rapids on Aug. 11. Salinas, who originally received a red card for the play, served his red-card suspension on August 18 during the Earthquakes’ match against Toronto FC. The midfielder will serve his additional one-game suspension on August 25 during San Jose’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Salinas has also been fined an undisclosed amount for his failure to leave the field in a timely and orderly manner during the 87th minute of the Earthquake’s match against the Colorado Rapids on August 11.
