I’m back with an MLS All-Time Best XI four-for-one deal. It was time to knock this mental exercise out, so you get AFC/Oceania (Asia and New Zealand), CAF (Africa), UEFA (Europe) and CONMEBOL (South America) in one fell swoop.
What you don’t get is 4,000 words of explanation. You’ll have to ask me to defend my lineups on Twitter. Just know it really cut me to the core to leave out the likes of David Villa, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Didier Drogba and so many more deserving figures in this league’s history.
Two questions answered before you can think to ask them:
- Yes, Kosuke Kimura and Kelvin Leerdam are predominantly right backs. Better to honor them than to be overly dogmatic.
- Yes, that CONMEBOL team is gonna have some trouble defending. Whatever. We’re attacking with six.
As a bonus, I've included my previous all-time XIs for the U.S. and for the rest of Concacaf at the bottom of the page. Alright, let’s get to it.
