Could Romario Ibarra be on his way out of Minnesota United?
According to Jeff Carlisle of ESPN, the Loons have agreed to a 13-month loan deal from Club Pachuca for Ibarra. The Ecuadorian international arrived in Minnesota less than a year ago.
Ibarra, 24, has two goals and an assists across eight appearances (four starts) this season. He hasn't started a game since the Loons' home opener on April 13. He has made a total of 17 appearances (six starts) in his MLS career, adding five goals and an assist.
The winger was acquired from Club Deportivo Universidad Catolica using Targeted Allocation Money in July of last season, strengthening an already deep position on the Loons roster.
This season, Ethan Finlay has re-established himself as a key member to the first team after missing most of 2018 with a torn ACL. Finlay has appeared in all 12 Loons matches in 2019, while head coach Adrian Heath can also call on Miguel Ibarra, Kevin Molino, Abu Danladi, Rasmus Schuller and others to play on the wing.
