LAFC can clinch the Supporters' Shield Wednesday night at Banc of California Stadium with a win over the Houston Dynamo.
LAFC (19-4-8) are seven points clear of New York City FC in the Shield race after rallying for a 1-1 draw at home against Toronto FC Saturday night, their fourth draw in five consecutive winless matches. Carlos Vela extended his Golden Boot presented by Audi lead with his 29th goal of the season.
The Dynamo (11-16-4) kept their slim hopes for a playoff spot alive, rallying to defeat Orlando City SC, 2-1, at BBVA Stadium Saturday night. After Dom Dwyer put the Lions in front in the 6th minute, Alberth Elis and Christian Ramirez scored three minutes apart in the second half for the Dynamo, who are seven points below the playoff line in the West with three games to play.
This is the second meeting this season, with LAFC winning 3-1 at Banc of California Stadium July 12. After Romell Quioto scored the opening goal on 3 minutes, Adama Diomande struck for a brace and Diego Rossi added an insurance goal two minutes from full time for the visitors.
