After nearly four months without a new lineup, there was a surprise when the starting XIs came through for the MLS is Back Tournament opener between Orlando City SC and Inter Miami CF.
The most notable absence was Inter Miami star Rodolfo Pizarro, who was on the bench to start in what had appeared to be a precautionary move after picking up a knock in training. But that was clarified before kickoff:
Inter Miami manager Diego Alonso confirmed as much after the match against Orlando: “We spoke to Rodolfo before the game. He was feeling something and it was my decision that he doesn’t start the match.”
After featuring in Miami's first two games off the bench, Juan Agudelo started up top in place of the Mexican international and he scored the club's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Orlando City.
