Two of the Houston Dynamo's more recent overseas arrivals have left the club.
The Dynamo announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to mutually part ways with midfielder David Rocha while Argentine playmaker Leonel Miranda is also on his way out after his loan stint from CA Independiente expired with no agreement reached on a permanent deal.
Both players arrived during ex-coach Owen Coyle's tenure in charge of the Dynamo, with Miranda joining the club in January 2015 and Rocha a year later.
“We’d like to thank Leo and David for their contributions during their time here in Houston,” Dynamo VP/general manager Matt Jordan said in a statement released by the club. “Each player leaves the club under different circumstances, and we wish them well moving forward.”
According to a Houston Chronicle report, Rocha's contract was terminated because the Spanish midfielder is seeking greater playing time and returning to his homeland due to his wife's pregnancy. As for Miranda, the Dynamo reportedly attempted to keep him but could not make it work.
Rocha made four MLS appearances in MLS, while Miranda scored three goals and had two assists in 32 league games (14 starts) since the beginning of last year.
