Goalkeepers can't have all the fun, at least when it comes to Save of the Week voting.
For the third time this season, a field player won the honor, as the LA Galaxy's Marcelo Sarvas' sliding save on Conor Casey inspired voters enough to make his valiant effort the best of Week 28.
After a whiffed clearance by Omar Gonzalez and some nifty footwork by Casey opened up space for a shot on an open goal, Sarvas steamed into the six-yard box and threw himself in the path of the Rapids' forward's goal-bound effort. San Jose's Jason Hernandez and Portland's Steven Smith are the other two non-goalkeepers to win the award this season.
