LAFC were dealt an early blow in their Sunday evening match with the Seattle Sounders at Banc of California Stadium as stalwart midfielder Mark-Anthony Kaye exited the contest early in the first half with an apparent leg injury.
Andy Najar replaced the Canadian international with a sixth-minute substitute for Bob Bradley's side, only to be subbed off with an injury of his own for Mohamed El-Munir just a few minutes later.
Kaye's injury occurred shortly after kickoff, when Kaye collided with Sounders center back Yeimar Gomez Andrade while making a run in the attacking end. Kaye appeared to injure his ankle on the play, and was tended to by club trainers on the field before being helped to the locker room.
LAFC head coach Bob Bradley said after the match that the first impression on the injury was that it was a "bad sprain" but that x-rays came back negative.

LAFC were already playing shorthanded due to international absences that included Uruguayan attackers Diego Rossi and Brian Rodriguez, as well as Jose Cifuentes and Diego Palacios, who departed for Ecuador. Superstar attacker Carlos Vela also remains out with a knee injury.
Kaye has been a rock-steady presence for LAFC in the midfield since joining the club in 2018, starting 61 of his 65 games, including starts in all 15 of his league appearances in 2020. He has missed time towards the end of each of his seasons with the Black & Gold due to injury.
