LAFC forward Adama Diomande was voted the MLS Player of the Month presented by EA SPORTS™ by members of the media for the month of June.
Diomande scored seven goals in his first five career MLS matches during the month, becoming the first player in league history to tally that many goals in his first five appearances.
The Norwegian international helped LAFC to a 4-1-1 record in the month of June, with the expansion team sitting in third place in the Western Conference on 31 points (9-4-4 record on the season).
Diomande's first goal came in a 2-1 loss at FC Dallas, before scoring a brace in LAFC's 4-3 comeback win over the San Jose Earthquakes. He then scored the winning goal in a 2-0 home win over Columbus Crew SC, before capping off the month with a hat trick – LAFC's first – in a 4-1 home win over the Philadelphia Union, a performance which earned him MLS Player of the Week honors.
LAFC and Diomande will be back on the field Saturday night, as they host Orlando City SC at Banc of California Stadium (11 pm ET | FS1, Full TV & Streaming Info).
MLS Player of the Month presented by EA SPORTS™ is voted upon by a panel of select national media members in a process conducted by MLS Communications.
