Success on the field has been difficult for Sebastian Lletget this season, with the LA Galaxy currently mired in a six-game losing streak and stuck in last place in the Western Conference ahead of Sunday’s critical match against the Vancouver Whitecaps (10:30 pm ET | TSN 1/4 in Canada; MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US).
Off the field, though, has been an unmitigated success for Lletget and recording artist and actress girlfriend Becky G, who have navigated a global pandemic to be even closer today.
What’s their secret to a four-year relationship in the public eye?
For Lletget, it’s the understanding that comes from shared experiences under pressure in their daily lives.
“She’s been helpful. She’s very empathetic. She doesn’t feel bad for me, she wants to help,” Lletget told Kevin Baxter of the LA Times. “You understand. You’ve had your own struggles that you’ve had to deal with so you’ve been there. It’s a blessing that we have this type of relationship. Because if any of us are struggling, we kind of know what that feels like. That’s huge.”
