TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Re-signed
The LA Galaxy made it official on Wednesday, announcing that they’ve re-signed left back Ashley Cole to a one-year deal.
The news was first reported by the LA Times’ Kevin Baxter on Tuesday.
“We are very excited that Ashley will be returning for us in 2018. He’s been a tremendous leader for our club,” LA Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid said in a statement released by the club. “He’s shown he can be successful in this league and we’re confident that will continue in the season ahead.”
Cole, 37, will return for his third season with the Galaxy. The former Arsenal, Chelsea and England defender recorded one goal and two assists in 29 regular season appearances last year. He has 55 appearances in his two years in MLS.
