Kemar Lawrence, Tyler Adams to start in New York Red Bulls' CCL opener

The New York Red Bulls are set to begin their CONCACAF Champions League campaign on Wednesday, and will do so with a few changes to their lineup.

Red Bulls head coach Jesse Marsch told the media on Tuesday that fullback Kemar Lawrence and rookie Tyler Adams will start in the club's CCL opener against Guatemalan side Antigua GFC. Marsch also said that goalkeeper Ryan Meara could get the nod over incumbent Luis Robles.

Lawrence, 23, has started in 11 games for the Red Bulls this season, but has not played since mid-May due to an injury picked up while on international duty with Jamaica at the Copa America Centenario.

Adams has played in one MLS match this year, starting and playing 45 minutes against the San Jose Earthquakes. Meara has yet to feature in 2016.

Coming off a 2-2 draw vs. the Chicago Fire on Sunday, New York will welcome Antigua GFC to Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night (8 pm ET; UDN, Facebook Live).
