The lineups are out for Leg 1 of the Eastern Conference Championship, and there is one big change for the New York Red Bulls.
Defender Kemar Lawrence, a 2018 MLS Best XI selection, is out of the 18 for the match, after picking up a knock in training, according to the team. In his place steps veteran Connor Lade. Lade hasn't been without playing time himself this year, as he made 21 appearances in MLS regular-season play this year, including 15 starts.
Lade will directly replace Lawrence in terms of position, on the left side of defense, and it's expected the formation will remain the same, a 4-2-3-1.
Atlanta United, meanwhile, who are hosting this first leg at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, will line up with the expected group. Most notably, Jeff Larentowicz returns after his injury in the previous round. Though charted as a 4-2-3-1, the Five Stripes appear most likely to play in the 5-3-2 formation they've preferred of late.
