TRANSFER TRACKER UPDATE: Re-signed

Despite reports linking his future in Mexico or Europe, Juan Agudelo has re-signed with the New England Revolution

MLSsoccer.com's Sam Stejskal reported at the beginning of November that Agudelo was weighing up offers from abroad, including a "hard offer" from Liga MX as well as interest in Turkey and Spain, but has decided to remain with the Revs.

“Juan has been an integral member of our team over the last five years, and ensuring that he remained here in New England was a priority for us this offseason,” general manager Michael Burns said in a media release. “We believe his best years as a player are still ahead of him, and we look forward to seeing Juan in a Revolution jersey in 2019 and beyond.”

Agudelo, 26, scored 3 goals and added 4 assists in 30 appearances (13 starts) in 2018 and was out of contract. He has scored 32 goals in 128 appearances with the club since joining in 2013. He signed with Stoke City in 2014, though was unable to earn a work permit and returned to the Revs in 2015.

After breaking through with the New York Red Bulls in 2010 at the age of 17, Agudelo has long been in the league's spotlight. He has three goals in 28 career appearances with the US national team, with his last international appearance coming in the Americans’ scoreless draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina in January.
