So who are the winningest players in Major League Soccer’s TAM era?
For this question, we’ve included two criteria to measure — winning percentage and number of wins.
When it comes to winning percentage since 2015, no one is higher than Atlanta United talisman Josef Martinez, who has won 59.52 percent of the games he’s played. Not surprisingly, four of his Five Stripes teammates, past and present, are in the top 10.
Checking in behind Martinez at 55.64 percent is Steven Beitashour, who played for a pair of record Supporters’ Shield-winning sides in Toronto FC and LAFC during his 10-year MLS career.
A pair of New York Red Bulls regulars — Sean Davis (53.97 percent) and Alex Muyl (52.25 percent) — also made the list, which is capped by stellar New York City FC center back Maxime Chanot (52 percent) and Seattle Sounders FC midfield stalwart Gustav Svensson.
As for overall games won since 2015, the honor goes to longtime Red Bulls, and current Inter Miami CF, goalkeeper Luis Robles with 82, not surprising considering the club’s quality and his MLS-record ironman streak of 183 consecutive regular season games played since joining the league in 2012.
Robles is followed by Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei (77) and another former Red Bulls legend in Bradley Wright-Phillips with 75.
Beitashour, who is fourth with 74 victories, and Davis, 10th with 68, made both lists. FC Dallas standout Michael Barrios rounds out the top five with 72 wins.
