Jordan Morris made his debut for Swansea City on Saturday, coming off the bench in the 83rd minute of their 3-1 win over Rotherham United in an English Championship match.
Morris subbed on for Jamal Lowe, helping Swansea City clinch all three points after the final scoreline was already in place. The result kept them second in the league standings and holding onto an automatic promotion spot with 26 of 46 matches completed.
Back on Jan. 22, Morris joined Swansea City via loan from the Seattle Sounders for the remainder of the 2020-21 season. The US men’s national team forward spent his first five professional seasons with Seattle, posting 35 goals and 20 assists in 105 matches. The Homegrown forward also helped the Sounders win MLS Cups in 2016 and 2019.
Now, Morris will hope to carve out a starting spot in manager Steve Cooper’s lineup. He was an unused substitute in Swansea City’s midweek draw against Brentford, who they’re fighting tooth-and-nail with for a spot in the Premier League.
Next up, Swansea City face league-leaders Norwich City on Friday (Feb. 5) before meeting Premier League leaders Manchester City for an FA Cup fifth-round clash that following Wednesday (Feb. 10).
