Of all the new looks unveiled during Jersey Week 2014 that can be considered collector's items, Chivas USA's new home kit is the real deal.
The Goats, who will be sold to a new ownership group before the end of the year, are entering their final year of play under the Chivas moniker with a complete rebrand set for 2015. That makes the most updated Chivas USA red-and-white jersey the last one that will be issued in league history.
There are several differences when compared to the 2013 version: From the new collar to the all-red sleeves and the blue-colored trims.
Years from now they'll believe you when you tell them there once was an MLS team nicknamed "goats": There's a new goat shield on the front of the 2014 jersey down at the jock tag.
And when you're wearing this a decade from now, they won't mistake you for a supporter of Chivas Guadalajara, the Mexican-based club that shares the same logo and badge. The name "Chivas USA" is printed in white lettering on the back neck of this shirt.
