Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez was out of the LA Galaxy's lineup in the team's Wednesday home match against the Portland Timbers, experiencing new fatherhood for the second time.
Chicharito's wife, Sarah, gave birth to their daughter Nala on Monday. The couple also have a one-year-old son, Noah.
The club's Twitter account did erroneously say the birth was today, but used the social media platform to announce the birth on Wednesday morning:
The Galaxy went with Ethan Zubak as the starting No. 9 in the match with the Timbers, also activating Sebastian Lletget, Efrain Alvarez, and Cristian Pavon in a front four against the MLS is Back cupholders.
