Inter Miami forward Julian Carranza will have to wait a bit for his competitive debut with the MLS expansion side through injury.
Carranza will be sidelined for 10-12 weeks with a left foot injury, sporting director Paul McDonough confirmed to reporters on Monday. The 19-year-old was injured on January 30.
Announced alongside fellow teenager Matias Pellegrini as the club's first signings, Carranza joined Miami after breaking through with Argentine club Banfield, where he already made 46 appearances.
Without Carranza, minutes may open up for the likes of No. 1 SuperDraft selection Robbie Robinson and former USMNT attackers Juan Agudelo and Jerome Kiesewetter. Miami continue to chase attackers to use their remaining two Designated Player spots on as well.
Inter debut in MLS on March 1 on the road against LAFC.
