Inter Miami CF forward and 2020 No. 1 overall MLS SuperDraft pick Robbie Robinson has been named the Clemson University Male Athlete of the Year at the 2020 CLEMMYs, Clemson's year-end awards show encompassing athletic and academic achievement.
It's a fitting honor for Robinson, who had already raked in an array of individual accolades -- including the 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy awarded to the nation's top college soccer player -- after a monster season with the Tigers in 2019 that saw him score 18 goals and dish out nine assists in just 19 games.
He parlayed the dominant showing into the distinction of being the top selection in the SuperDraft, going to a Miami side entering its expansion MLS season. Robinson played 134 minutes across two matches before the MLS season was postponed, picking up a secondary assist on the first goal in club history after a stellar individual run and pass to help set up Rodolfo Pizarro's opener against D.C. United on March 7. Watch it below.
