As a few Inter Miami CF players returned to the training ground for the individual training sessions several clubs were cleared to begin hosting on Wednesday, they were joined by one of their most intriguing young players who was coming off a lengthy injury layoff.

Forward Julian Carranza went through some drills at the club's new Fort Lauderdale training facility, looking mobile as he did some work with the ball, did some jogging and ran sprints. Check out some of the clips below of Carranza training posted to Inter Miami's Twitter account.

The 19-year-old forward suffered a serious foot injury on Jan. 30 that was expected to keep him out of action for 10-12 weeks. Carranza missed the club's first two MLS games with the injury before the league's season was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After training, Carranza spoke about his return to training and being able to get some ball work in once again.

"I felt really good," he said. "It was very good to return to training. Truthfully, I missed this alot. … It felt really good to be able to touch the ball again. It's a little strange because of the distance and all that, but everything's good."

Because he was rehabbing from an injury, Carranza had been one of a handful of players allowed to visit the team's facility over the last couple months, which had otherwise been closed to players since MLS instituted a training moratorium on March 13 as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold. Carranza said he was "thankful" to both the club and league for being able to continue his rehab at the team facility and that it played an important role in his recovery.

Whenever MLS does resume play, a healthy Carranza would add an interesting wrinkle into Inter Miami's attack. While it's still unknown how his skillset would translate to the league, Carranza has tons of talent and upside, scoring 13 goals in 40 appearances for Argentine side Banfield before Miami brought him in on a multi-million dollar transfer fee in June 2019. He also has three goals in four appearances for Argentina's U-17s.
