Inter Miami CF forward Robbie Robinson will not be with his team for the MLS is Back Tournament, MLSsoccer.com confirmed on Monday. The Miami Herald was first to report the news.

The 2020 MLS SuperDraft No. 1 pick was with his team in Orlando, but left the tournament on Sunday to manage a personal situation.

Miami sporting director Paul McDonough said that Robinson “did not test positive for COVID-19” but had to go home to be with his family.

“Robbie is not in the bubble any longer,” McDonough told the Herald Monday. “He did not test positive. Something came up, we discussed it, and for personal reasons Robbie decided to leave the bubble. It made more sense for him to leave the bubble and sort it out. Once you leave you can’t come back in, so we thought this maybe was something we could have taken care of from there, but we decided it was better for him to sort it out by leaving.”

Robinson started Miami's first two matches but left the second match before halftime with an injury, though he was expected to be participate fully in the tournament. With his absence, Julian Carranza will likely get the nod up top as 20-year-old Argentine is returning from his own injury.
