TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
The Houston Dynamo have acquired winger Tyler Pasher from USL Championship club Indy Eleven, the club announced Thursday. Pasher was named to the division's All-League team in 2020.
Pasher, 26, had 23 goals and six assists during his 50 appearances with the club, including 10 goals and two assists in 15 appearances in 2020. He is a former Canadian youth international.
“Tyler is a player we’ve been tracking closely over the last year and we are pleased the timing was right to add him to our roster,” Dynamo senior VP & GM Matt Jordan said in a club statement. “His ability to take players on and put up numbers, along with being naturally left-footed, make him a good fit for our group and system.”
Pasher spent seven years in Newcastle United's academy before returning to Canada with Toronto FC’s academy. He never earned an MLS contract with Toronto, but signed for Finnish side PS Kemi in 2013. He had 11 goals in 24 appearances before returning to North America, working his way to the Swope Park Rangers, Sporting KC's affiliate. He made one MLS appearance with SKC in 2017.
"Tyler is a relentless worker on both sides of the ball and he fits really well into our game model,” Dynamo coach Tab Ramos said. “We feel that we added a player who is going to be successful and going to contribute in the attacking third."
Pasher joins a revamped Dynamo attack following 2020 departures of Mauro Manotas and Alberth Elis. The new-look forward group is headlined by Darwin Quintero, Christian Ramirez, Mateo Bajamich and Ariel Lassiter.
