There's no place like home. And there are few players like Thierry Henry.
The New York Red Bulls striker was voted Week 3's MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters after netting two goals and adding an assist in New York's 4-1 rout of the Colorado Rapids in their home opener. The goals were Henry's first of the season.
The Frenchman took the honors in a landslide, winning 18 of the 22 first-choice votes cast. San Jose Earthquakes striker Chris Wondolowski won two votes for his brace against Toronto FC, while goalkeepers Joe Cannon and Dan Kennedy each earned a vote.
Sunday's result marked New York's first win of the season after dropping their first two games away to FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake. The Red Bulls scored one goal in those two contests: a 78th-minute lob shot by Kenny Cooper, assisted by Henry.
