Jonathan dos Santos is Mexico's lone-MLS call-up in El Tri's first post-World Cup squad, as the LA Galaxy midfielder was pegged for selection for upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and the U.S. national team.
Dos Santos has made 29 appearances for El Tri in his career. He likely won't miss any MLS action as the Galaxy don't have a game between Mexico's two friendlies on Sept. 7 and Sept. 11. Dos Santos hasn't appeared for the Galaxy since Aug. 14 due to a groin injury.
After being eliminated in the Round of 16 of this year's World Cup by Brazil, El Tri embarks on a new cycle and, like the USMNT, have yet to appoint a new head coach. LAFC'sCarlos Vela wasn't selected by interim manager Tuca Ferretti but former MLSer Carlos Saucedo was included.
