A world-class goal from Seattle Sounders forward Raul Ruidiaz ran away with first place in the Week 19 AT&T Goal of the Week voting.
In Seattle's 2-1 win over Atlanta United last wekeend, the Peruvian flicked over Miles Robinson's head before volleying home from midair past goalkeeper Brad Guzan. On the ESPN broadcast, John Champion quickly called it a "classic of its type." The strike gave Ruidiaz his seventh of the year through 11 matches, as he recently returned from Copa America duty.
When all was said and done, Ruidiaz took home nearly 80 percent of the vote, with a long-range bullet from Real Salt Lake winger Jefferson Savarino in second at 12 percent. Third went to Toronto FC forward Jozy Altidore for a splendid free kick at 5 percent, with Colorado Rapids midfielder Sam Nicholson fourth at 2 percent. Taking up the rear was D.C. United forward Quincy Amarikwa with 1 percent of the vote.
Up next, Ruidiaz and Seattle will host Cascadia Cup rivals Portland Timbers this Sunday (9:30 pm ET | FS1, TSN2).
