FC Dallas' Toyota Stadium to host decisive leg of US-Colombia Olympic qualifying playoff

Toyota Stadium - FC Dallas - Frisco, Texas

The US Under-23 national team’s Olympic fate will be decided at Toyota Stadium.

US Soccer announced on Tuesday that the venue in Frisco, Texas, home of FC Dallas, will play host on March 29 to the second leg of the US U-23 team’s home-and-away playoff series against Colombia for a spot in the 2016 Olympic Games.

The match is set to begin at 9:30 pm ET, and will be broadcast live on ESPN2, immediately following the senior US team's World Cup qualifying match against Guatemala at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio at 7 pm ET.

The first leg of the playoff is scheduled for March 25 in Barranquilla, Colombia.

The US U-23s failed to secure one of CONCACAF’s two automatic bids to the Rio de Janeiro Olympics at the confederation’s Olympic qualifying tournament last October. The Americans lost in the semifinals of the tournament to Honduras, but beat Canada in the third-place game to earn a spot in the playoff against Colombia, who finished second at the 2015 South American Youth Championship.

The US haven’t qualified for the Olympics since the 2008 Beijing Games. Nine Under-23 eligible players are currently with the USMNT at their annual January camp, and three of those players, including FC Dallas' Kellyn Acosta, featured in Jurgen Klinsmann's side's 3-2 win against Iceland on Sunday.
