US national head coach Jurgen Klinsmann added FC Dallas midfielder Kellyn Acosta to the roster for the USA's friendly against Ecuador on Wednesday.
It promises to be an easy trip for Acosta, as the match, a warm-up for next month's Copa America Centenario, will take place at his club's Toyota Stadium home (8 pm ET; ESPN2, UniMás, UDN).
Acosta, a key member of the US U-23 side who earlier this year earned his first two caps for the senior squad, was named to Klinsmann's 40-man preliminary roster for Copa America, but was not included in the official 23-man roster released on Saturday.
The versatile FCD Homegrown has played multiple positions for both club and country but is primarily a central midfielder for Dallas; he is listed as a defender in U.S. Soccer's release and was recently used as a fullback on USMNT duty. Acosta was named to the latest MLS Team of the Week on Monday thanks to his two-assist performance in FCD's 4-2 win over New England.
After the Ecuador match, the USMNT will play their final warmup match before the tournament when they host Bolivia on Saturday (8 pm ET; FS1, UniMás, UDN) at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, the home of Sporting KC.
