FC Dallas homegrown Bryan Reynolds made history Sunday, coming off the bench to make his Serie A debut for AS Roma in a 2-0 loss to Parma at Stadio Ennio Tardini.
The 19-year-old, who was signed by AS Roma on a six-month loan before completing a permanent transfer on Feb. 1, is the second youngest US youth international to play in Serie A behind Josh Perez (18) and is the fifth to compete in the Italian top flight, following fellow FC Dallas academy standout Weston McKennie, who debuted for Juventus earlier this season.
Reynolds came on for the final 30 minutes, replacing Bruno Peres as right wingback, with Roma, which had a 17-match Serie A unbeaten streak snapped, already training 2-0.
Roma are in the heat of a battle for a Champions League spot, sitting fifth in the league with 50 points, just two behind McKennie’s Juventus and Atalanta and three points ahead of sixth-place Napoli ahead of a massive showdown next Sunday.
