There were plenty of US exports in action overseas on Saturday, including a couple of the brightest young talents for the US men's national team. Weston McKennie drew most of the headlines, and rightfully so, as his starting appearance for Juventus is certainly a huge milestone moment. But he wasn't the only to get a chance to show their talents. Here are the other names that got time on the pitch.
Tyler Adams
RB Leipzig
It was a successful season debut for the New York Red Bulls academy product, as Adams started and played all 90 minutes for RB Leipzig in their 3-1 victory over Mainz. He showed out in the central midfield, too, helping RB Leipzig boss the game with some pinpoint passing accuracy and a stalwart defensive performance.
Sergino Dest
Ajax
With transfer rumors linking him to powerhouses like Bayern Munich and Barcelona swirling, the 19-year-old didn't start for Ajax in their 3-0 win over Rkc Waalwijk, but he did find his way onto the field, subbing on in the 79th minute and finishing out the contest. It'll be interesting to see how long Dest remains with the Dutch giants, but either way, the buzz around him is notable given his status as one of the USMNT's most intriguing young talents.
John Brooks
Wolfsburg
It wasn't a banner day offensively for Brooks' Wolfsburg side, as they had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Leverkusen. The big center back did resume his usual starting spot in the middle of the defense though, and helped his team to a clean sheet. Still just 27, Brooks has become a mainstay in that spot, although it has been reported that he's supposed to face some increased competition for the starting role this season.
Julian Green
Greuther Fürth
Another player who seems to have been around forever, but is still just 25, Green continues to ply his trade in the 2. Bundesliga with Greuther Fürth and started their 1-1 draw against Vfl Osnabruck and went the full 90 minutes. Green has fallen off the USMNT radar since his notable cameo at the 2014 World Cup, when he was just 18, but he's been reasonably productive in his time in German's second-tier, with eight goals to his name in 52 appearances.
Miguel Almiron
Newcastle United
It was a tough day for Newcastle United, who fell 3-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion, and Almiron wasn't in the starting XI. The former Atlanta United star did make a second-half cameo, however, subbing on after the break for Andy Carroll and finishing out the contest. He created at least one big chance, finding teammate Callum Wilson in front of goal with a headed feed that Wilson couldn't quite get on target.
Luca de la Torre
Heracles Almelo
The San Diego native and former Fulham prospect made the move to Eredivisie outfit Heracles Almelo before the start of the season, and provided an assist in his club debut last weekend. He followed that up by starting the club's match against Willem II, which didn't go well, as Heracles lost 4-0. De la Torre played the first 58 minutes before subbing off. Still, it'll be interesting to monitor his progress and if he can continue being a fixture in the club's starting lineup, as he never quite managed to break through for regular first-team minutes at Fulham.
Tim Weah
Lille
One of the best young talents in the USMNT pool that has had some unfortunate injury luck in recent years, Weah is now trying to make his case for a big first-team role at Lille. The 20-year-old began Saturday's 1-1 draw against Marseille on the bench, but subbed on in the 78th minute and finished out the match. An interesting note here is the player that Weah replaced was Jonathan David, the standout Canadian international who also recently joined the French club. These are two of Concacaf's brightest young prospects, so it'll be worth keeping tabs on how much they're leaned on in Ligue 1 play going forward.
