Thursday's Europa League action featured a healthy group of US and Canadian internationals, as well as a familiar MLS face that got on the scoresheet. Here's your round-up of who played, who's coming off the bench and how they all did.
Richie Ledezma
PSV Eindhoven
It was a tough 4-1 defeat for Ledezma's PSV side against PAOK in Group E play, but Ledezma took the field for a second straight fixture, subbing on in the 83rd minute and finishing out the contest.
The appearance comes on the heels of Ledezma's first-team debut, which came in a 4-0 win over ADO Den Haag on Sunday, and saw the 20-year-old record an assist after coming off the bench in the 74th minute. Ledezma becomes the second American to appear for PSV in a European competition, joining US men's national team legend DaMarcus Beasley, and he also got his first senior USMNT call-up on Tuesday. That's quite the streak of milestones for the young midfielder. He'll hope that his first two appearances foreshadow consistent action on the club level.
Scott Arfield
Rangers
Arfield's Rangers side were dealt a gut-punch in their Group E matchup with Benfica, taking a 3-2 lead into second-half stoppage time but relinquishing it after yielding a 91st-minute equalizer to Benfica's Darwin Nunez.
The Canadian international didn't start the contest, but finished it out after subbing on in the 69th minute.
Yangel Herrera
Granada
New York City FC fans might recognize this name, as Herrera suited up for the Cityzens for 38 league appearances from 2017-18.
The Venezuelan was loaned from sister club Manchester City, where hasn't made an appearance, and is currently on loan at Spanish side Granada. He started his team's Group E matchup against AC Omonia on Thursday, and made his presence felt, scoring the opening goal four minutes after kickoff in an eventual 2-0 victory. Henry Wingo
Molde
The Seattle Sounders Homegrown continues to perform as the regular right back for the Norwegian side, and he's playing arguably his most prestigious opponent yet in Thursday's Group B clash with Arsenal.
It's been fascinating to watch Wingo's progression from a player who never broke in as a regular in Seattle to a game-to-game fixture in Norway, which looks like it turned to be a perfect fit.
Jonathan David, Tim Weah
Lille
Lille's US-Canada duo are also taking on a high-profile opponent in the team's Group H bout with AC Milan.
The lineup continued what seems to be the current trend for Lille, with Canadian international David starting up top, and Weah coming off the bench. David was looking to get off the mark with an elusive first goal, but wound up making a contribution as a facilitator, making a great run and layoff to set up teammate Yusuf Yazici for his third goal of the match in the 58th minute. The tally set Lille off to a 3-0 lead and put them in position for a huge result against the Italian giants.
It's a big moment for David even if he wasn't the one who found the net, as the 20-year-old had struggled to get going in his first season with the club to this point.
