TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
Kemar Lawrence was one of the best left backs in Major League Soccer during five seasons with the New York Red Bulls, including a Best XI selection in 2018.
And now it appears the Jamaican international nicknamed “Taxi” is possibly poised to a return to the league.
Ives Galarcep reports multiple MLS teams are interested in the 28-year-old Lawrence, who was transferred to Anderlecht following the 2019 MLS season. Lawrence has made 12 league appearances for the Belgium side, earning eight consecutive starts.
Galarcep reports at least one team in each conference have expressed interest in Lawrence, with FC Cincinnati an early suitor before the club traded for Costa Rican international Ronald Matarrita.
Galarcep also reports Lawrence qualifies as a free agent, which means he’s not on the MLS Allocation List and is free to go to any club.
