Tommy Thompson is well known for his footwork and tricky moves in MLS, and one likely source of inspiration has been revealed.
The San Jose Earthquakes' Homegrown midfielder has been spending time with the legendary traveling basketball trick troupe Harlem Globetrotters this offseason, while attending Golden State Warriors games. And he recently shared a soccer skills session (using a basketball) with Globetrotter Shane "Scooter" Christensen at Oracle Arena.
Maybe Scooter can fill in for the Earthquakes if they need a target man? The Quakes open the 2018 MLS regular season on March 3 at Avaya Stadium against Minnesota United FC (10:30 pm ET | MLS Live).
