LA Galaxy rising talent Julian Araujo might have a decision to make in the coming years if his upward trajectory continues.
Araujo has represented the United States throughout his youth career from the Under-18 up to the Under-23 age group and he was a member of the US squad at the Under-20 World Cup last year, but he's also eligible for Mexico. He's not yet cap-tied to the United States and feels strongly about both countries.
"It's definitely hard, I stress a lot about it," Araujo told Extratime. "I've received calls from both coaches, both staffs. It's hard because I have dual-citizenship. I've kind of put it aside right now because I'm getting minutes (with the Galaxy) so I'm focused on my club.
"For me being 19 receiving calls from both sides, it's a tough decision. Not a feeling I like to feel. I'm just waiting on whoever gives me the better opportunity. So far the US has given it to me. But you never know what'll happen. I'm going to go with whoever makes me more successful in my career."

Araujo, who just turned 19 last month, broke into the Galaxy first team in 2019 and made 19 MLS appearances. This season his development has continued, starting each of his side's last five games. He has been key in the Galaxy's recent upturn of form, with three consecutive wins on the bounce.
"I've had the US promise me stuff, I've had Mexico promise me stuff," Araujo said. "It's kind of even. I haven't really made a decision, I'm just taking my time. I'm just waiting."
