Didier Drogba, who hasn't played for the Montreal Impact since he was left out of the 18-man squad for their Oct. 16 draw with Toronto FC, trained with the club today as it prepares for Leg 2 of its Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinal against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday (4pm ET; ESPN, ESPN Deportes | TSN, RDS in Canada).
Drogba was left out of the draw with Toronto - which clinched a playoff spot for the Impact - after he was informed by coach Mauro Biello that he would be coming off the bench. Upon hearing that, Drogba told Biello if he was not starting, he didn't want to be in the gameday roster. The Ivory Coast striker then did not feature in the squad for Montreal's first two playoff games - their 4-2 win over D.C. United in the Knockout Round, and their 1-0 win over the Red Bulls on Sunday - because of what the team labeled a sore back.
Montreal hold a 1-0 lead on aggregate over the Red Bulls, but have never won a game at Red Bull Arena, which opened in 2010.
