Atlanta United acted Wednesday to re-claim one of their inaugural acquisitions, with US national team fullback Greg Garza signing a multi-year deal after playing the season on loan from Club Tijuana.
“Greg was an integral part of our first-year success and we’re happy we were able to bring him back on a permanent basis,” said Atlanta United technical director Carlos Bocanegra in a statement. “He’s a natural fit for our style of play and in addition to his on-field performance, which was recognized by his place in the MLS All-Star Game, Greg has become an important figure in the locker room.”
The multi-lingual Garza, who posted 2 goals and 5 assists in 26 appearances (25 starts), was among Atlanta's fan favorites - the club's supporters voted him a starter in Chicago for the 2017 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target. Looks like they're all in for more:
