For the third time this season, D.C. United and the New England Revolution square off with Bruce Arena's squad looking to take all three points from Audi Field for the second time in just over a month Sunday night.
D.C. United's (2W-6L-5D) are rooted to the bottom of the Eastern Conference following a 1-0 loss to Nashville SC Wednesday night, while the Revs (4W-3L-6D) are fifth in the East after defeating the Montreal Impact 3-1 at Gillette Stadium.
After a 1-1 draw at the MLS is Back Tournament, the Revs defeated D.C. 2-1 at Audi Field August 25, with Gustavo Bou and Teal Bunbury scoring first-half goals and Matt Turner was big down the stretch to secure all three points.

Looking for the low-point of D.C. United's season to this point? It was the opening 45 minutes of a 1-0 loss at Nashville SC Wednesday. It was culminated by Russell Canouse's sending off for a second bookable offense as United's winless streak stretched to four games.
"We were a bunch of frauds in the first half of that game and it was an unacceptable performance from us," he said in his post-match press conference. "It was uninspiring. We looked like we were still on Sun Country Airlines or whatever we flew here this morning and it just wasn’t cutting it. All around the board: the soccer part was very, very poor, problem-solving, connecting passes and making the right decision. All of it was off. With that, we’re defending against a team we shouldn’t be defending that much against. And again, the animosity wasn’t there. It was just not good enough overall.”

Goals by Henry Kessler, Bou and Diego Fagundez helped lift the Revs to a 3-1 victory over the Impact, their first win this season at Gillette Stadium. It was an offensive explosion of sorts for a Revs team that hadn't scored more than two goals in any game this season.
"I think it’s important for players’ confidence. We had chances maybe to score a few more goals tonight," Bruce Arena said after the game. "I think we’re fortunate we ran into a tired team in Montreal. And they had a couple of injuries, but that’s all part of the game right now. I think in the league, it’s very challenging with all the games that are being pieced together in a short period of time. You see that there’s increased injuries. It looked like tonight two players had hamstring injuries. So, it’s been challenging on everyone physically. We were fortunate tonight to catch Montreal on a bit of an off day, but overall, I’m obviously pleased with the win and the goals are going to help our confidence.”
