It's confirmed: Oniel Fisher's 2018 season is over.
The fullback injured his knee in D.C. United's 5-0 win over the Montreal Impact on Saturday and the club confirmed Fisher will undergo surgery for a partially torn ACL, MCL, PCL and medial meniscus.
Fisher, 26, was enjoying his best season in MLS, his first with D.C. He had played in 24 games this season, by far a career high.
“I will be back stronger,” Fisher said, via Washington Post's Steven Goff.
D.C. sit just two points behind the Impact for the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot, with two games in hand.
