TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Re-signing
D.C. United announced on Wednesday they have re-signed defender Oniel Fisher to a contract extension.
Fisher, 27, spent the 2018 season with D.C., making an MLS career high in appearances (24) over his four-year stint in the league. He spent his first three seasons in MLS with the Seattle Sounders.
The Jamaican international has 15 caps to date with his country. His 2018 season was cut short after suffering a major knee injury on Sept. 29, an injury that required surgery.
"We're excited to re-sign Oniel after a promising first season with us that was cut short through injury," Dave Kasper, United general manager and VP of soccer operations, said in a team statement. "He's motivated to come back stronger and we're looking forward to getting him back to full fitness this year to contribute to the team."
D.C. United will kick off the 2019 MLS regular season on March 3 when they host Atlanta United.
